Why is my domain not verifying?

Updated May 16, 2026

Almost every failed verification is one of these.

1. Not propagated yet

DNS changes are not instant. Wait, then re-check. Most hosts are under 30 minutes.

2. The host added your domain to the record

Some DNS hosts append your domain automatically. If Mule Mail asks for s1._domainkey and you typed s1._domainkey.yourcompany.com, the record becomes s1._domainkey.yourcompany.com.yourcompany.com. Enter the host part only.

3. A conflicting SPF record

You can only have one SPF record per domain. If you already send from another tool, merge the include: parts into one record rather than adding a second.

4. Proxied CNAMEs

If you use Cloudflare, set the DKIM and tracking CNAMEs to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.
