Acceptable Use Policy
The sending rules. One bad sender hurts every other sender.
Last updated May 17, 2026
This document is operator-provided content for the Mule Mail product and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before public launch.
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It exists because email reputation is partly shared, so the rules are firm.
Consent
You may only send to people who have a genuine, recent relationship with you or who asked to hear from you. The following are prohibited:
- Purchased, rented, or traded lists.
- Scraped or harvested addresses.
- Addresses from a different brand or context "ported over" without consent.
Required in every email
- A working unsubscribe that takes one click and no login, honoured immediately.
- A real physical postal address for the sending organisation.
- Accurate from, reply-to, and subject. No deceptive headers.
Prohibited content and behaviour
- Unlawful, deceptive, or harassing content.
- Phishing, malware, or credential collection.
- Evading suppression, unsubscribe, bounce handling, or rate limits.
Rate and reputation limits
We monitor bounce and complaint rates. Sending may be paused automatically when, in the first 1,000 sends of a campaign, the bounce rate exceeds 5 percent or the complaint rate exceeds 0.3 percent, or when a sending domain's authentication fails mid-campaign.
Enforcement
We may pause a campaign, throttle an account, or terminate access for breach, with or without notice depending on the risk to other senders. We would rather warn you. We will not let one account damage the rest.
